The DRI exists to pursue non-VA funding, both government and private, to drive the best research-based health care for our Veterans.
We recognize that
Translating research innovations into improved health care for Veterans is a complex, inter-disciplinary task. We have the capabilities to combine government, research institutions, industry, and philanthropic resources to realize our purpose.
Competition for external funding is increasingly intense. We recognize that now, more than ever, we must depend on the support and generosity of individual donors to continue the growth of science and care at the Denver VA.
As stewards of the research funds we administer, we are committed to the highest ethical standards. Donors expect and deserve that their funds are well used and protected against waste or loss. Our investment processes are aligned with nonprofit best practices that stress the safeguarding of our assets, and we only invest in the most conservative investment instruments.
Your gift may be increased if you work for a company with a matching gift program. All gifts of cash may be matched by your employer. Spouse and retiree gifts may also be matched. Please check with your human resources department to see if your company has a gift-matching program and to obtain a matching gift form.
It is our responsibility to always balance our administrative needs with maximizing investments in research. Currently, we manage over $7 million in annual research expenditures. Our management portion for philanthropic research expense is 14.9%, which compares well with other research institutes in highly regulated environments.
